Because this is a full aperture filter it allows the best possible daytime viewing of the sun. The sun is viewed in a natural yellowish-orange image. This premium solar filter has an aluminum cell that is secured to the tube end of the telescope with a nylon thumb screw. The aperture is made with high quality, hand selected, scratch free, reflective coated glass. It is the highest quality, most durable filter on the market. It can be used for direct viewing or photography through the telescope. It will fit a telescope with a tube end (opposite the eyepiece) diameter of 8 13/16"(224mm) to 9 1/16"(230mm). You can measure the end of your telescope to be sure this filter will fit. This filter is new in the box in plastic. The filter box is foam lined for protection and shock absorption during handling. 3Does not fit a 8" S-C Telescope (Celestron)
By Pc_By_Design
I was hesitant to be the first to review however I felt that both the seller and Amazon are a little misleading on this product having purchased it. I purchased the sun filter because:

A) I wanted a filter that would last
B) Didn't mind paying a premium to have a nice filter
C) Both the Seller(All Meade 8" S-C"s and Celestron 8" S-C's;)/Amazon(Cross Advertising "Consumers also bought") advertised it as fitting my 8" Schmidt-Cassegain Telescope

What I received was a nice filter in the wrong spectrum, that didn't fit on the end of my tube without fiercely pushing it on. While certainly I could have kept it and struggled to push it on. I would have risked doing damage to either the filter or the tube(Already scratched the bolts on the tube from one attempt putting it on) because of it.

The product is listed as fitting all Celestron 8" S-C's when my experience with my 8" S-C telescope (Celestron NexStar 8 SE Telescope) that is just not true. In the end I am going to go with a non-glass Baader filter direct from the manufacturer. Instead of buying "the best glass filter", I'm just going for the one that works this time.
