4Great product, but a little pricey...
By Ed
I've used this a number of times with my Nikon D5100 and the kit works great! On my 3" Celestron telescope, and with the camera mounted, I needed to adjust the balance point quite a bit to make the tracking motor stay in sync, but that's to be expected.

The only downside is that the cost of the kit is a bit higher than the "perceived" quality of the items. Don't get me wrong, the workmanship is very good. And it would have gotten five stars had the cost been under $60. Still, for someone like me that needed a good kit, it did exactly what was advertised and that's what mattered to me the most!

3Great Customer Service - Did not focus with D80
By J. Miller
I bought this to use with my Nikon D80 and an Orion Starblaster 4.5. I got it hooked up OK...I tried both primary and eyepiece focus..but no matter what it would not focus. It felt like I could not get it "close enough" to focus. I emailed the company before I attempted a return and they promptly got back to me and let me know I would need a barlow to extend the focus distance. They sold me one for $25+shipping which seemed much cheaper than others.. but I had never heard of the brand. I will do some more work and make sure it all works OK as soon as the weather clears.

So some things to take a way...
1. You may need a barlow lens which will add more $$ to taking a picture through the telescope...there is no way that I know to find out ahead of time if you will need one. I am sure most seasoned astronomers already have one, but I am new to this.
2. Great customer service and very helpful. Their quick response times impressed me which is why I ordered the barlow lens through them and not amazon.

***Follow up***
Even with the barlow lens it would not focus. I had to return it and am awaiting my refund currently.

4it works, could be cheaper
By ®
Really it is just 4 pieces of plastic here. But it is what you need to attach a nikon dslr to a telescope. I joined an astronomer group and also one of the university (Udub) had a few telescopes that let the local use. Well I asked if I can place this device on and it works. The only piece I didn't use was the parfocalizing ring. I guess I don't need it for some of the telescope. I was using a meade 1270.

Direction is skippy, but enough and you figure things out as you go.
